Today I’m participating in the Color of Love Blog Hop. My original plan was to discuss my book, Jaded Hearts, and why I decided to write an interracial romance novel. Well, scratch that! I’ve decided to list some of the IR reads that I have enjoyed reading.
50 Shades of Jungle Fever and Exit Strategy by LV Lewis
Don’t be thrown off by the name. What started as a parody turned out to be a sexy, funny, exciting tale of romance between a successful venture capitalist, Tristan White, and a fledgling business owner, Keisha Beale. The relationship between Tristan and Keisha starts off tense, but quickly turns intense. This series is a must read. Here’s the blurb:
FIFTY SHADES OF GREY to the second power meets Keisha and Jada from the Block.
If you’ve wondered how an ethnic girl from the hood might’ve handled an arrangement with an experienced white Dominant, this is your book. If you’d like to see the sexiest TWIN DOMS in a contemporary romance series in interracial relationships, this is most definitely your book.
Aspiring recording studio owners, Keisha Beale and Jada Jameson, score a rare meeting with venture capitalist Tristan White, and are thrust into a world beyond their wildest imaginations.
Street-wise Keisha is startled to realize she wants this rich white man, despite the certainty that he is out of her league. Unable to resist Keisha’s sassy, irreverent, and fiercely independent spirit, Tristan knew from day one he wanted her, too–as his first African American submissive.
Upper Class Jada of the Springfield Jamesons has traveled in almost the same circles as the White brothers, and has had a secret crush on Nathan White, the point guard for the Chicago Bulls, for quite some time.
Both brothers have succumbed to jungle fever, and want a little coffee in their cream.
Lured by Tristan White and his offer of fronting the capital for her business in exchange for kinky sex, Keisha finds herself with no other option. Keisha is also tortured by a demons from her past, and her inability to come to terms with them threatens to undermine the future of her business and her tumultuous, unconventional relationship with Tristan White.
Erotic, amusing, and in places hilarious, the Ghetto Girl Erotica Trilogy is a parody with a unique take on a Fifty Shades-type story that will take you even further into the BDSM world, and promises to make the vanilla original Fifty Shades Blacker.
The first two books focus on Keisha and Tristan’s romance, and the final two focus on Jada and Nathan’s.
Mi Carina and Mi Carino by Sienna Mynx
I must preface this by saying I love hot latin men. With that being said, the hero of this book, Diego, was so hot! Sienna Mynx is a stellar story teller! Here’s the blurb:
There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only passion and all those sinful naughty feelings caught in between. He’s not the man she thinks he is. However, Marcella Garcia is willing to take a chance. Why? Her new lovers desires take her on a passionate and sexual awakening beyond her dreams. Marcella initially convinces herself that sex with no strings is enough. It’s a gamble. When her desires bloom to love the risk becomes a costly mistake.
The Throwaway Year by Pepper Pace
This was a beautiful story. Nuff said. Here’s the blurb:
Hayden Michaels had given six years of her life to MyKell before he informed her that things hadn’t been right for a while. He had met someone else. And that’s when she opened her eyes and saw the mess that she was; financially, emotionally and physically. Never able to maintain the discipline to carry through with any weight loss goal, Hayden makes a bold decision. She will throwaway an entire year of her life; moving towards her goals with no thought of pleasure or pain. As she recreates herself Hayden meets situations and people that help her to realize her worth, namely a man who has been written off by society. But the question becomes whether Hayden can accept the faults of someone else without allowing herself to go backwards?
Jaded Hearts by Olivia Linden
Of course I’m going to talk about my story because I love it. In all the years and out of all the stories I have written, the characters in this book have been the realest to me. It’s currently on sale for .99 cents until November 30th. Here’s one my favorite reviews:
I absolutely loved this book. The way the author brought you into Jade’s world of love, lust, betrayal, forgiveness, etc. This author’s writing is so descriptive and realistic that I feel like I know these characters and are apart of the family. The various dynamics between Jade and the other characters in the book are so well done, I want to be apart of it.
The way she created two men who are complete opposites but are exactly what Jade wants at any given moment. I have recently just re read this book in preparation for the next. I literally cannot wait until the next book to see how it all ends.
This is an amazing for a first time author, for an anytime author really. 5 stars!!!
